— Philip Sieg is a Hardware Development Engineer Working at Amazon Robotics
in Boston
I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering (2022) and a MSE in Robotics (2023). I was born in Durham but grew up in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. In my free time, I like to play sports, workout, and ski. Recently, I have really enjoyed cooking and barbecuing.
I love to tackle problems and learn new things. Whether it’s theoretical math or mechanical design I am constantly challenging myself and will pursue a topic until I fully understand it. I am a good communicator, and thanks to my many years as a teaching assistant and tutor, I can find ways to make complex topics accessible, even to those without a technical background. I enjoy working together with people.
A few fun facts about me: In basketball led my high school league… in fouls and played against three NBA lottery picks (Mo Bamba, Cam Reddish, and Deandre Hunter). I am fluent in German and have been lucky enough to visit Germany many times to spend time with my grandparents and other relatives.
